Jewelry Materials & Care

Our Crystals: Ethically Sourced, Naturally Beautiful

We believe jewelry should not only look beautiful but also be made with integrity. Every crystal in our collection is ethically sourced with care and intention. We work only with trusted suppliers who prioritize fair labor practices, safe working conditions, and environmentally respectful mining methods. Each stone is carefully hand-selected to ensure it carries not just visual beauty, but also positive energy and a clear origin story.

As natural materials, our crystals—such as quartz, amethyst, jade, and agate—feature unique textures, inclusions, and slight imperfections. These natural variations are part of their charm, making every piece truly one-of-a-kind.

Jewelry Care & Maintenance

Not all crystals are created equal when it comes to care. To keep your jewelry looking its best and avoid accidental damage, please follow these crystal-specific guidelines.

1. Water-Cleaning: What You Need to Know

Some crystals are safe for quick rinsing, while others should never come into contact with water due to their softness, porosity, or chemical sensitivity.

  • Water-safe crystals (safe for brief rinses only): Clear quartz, rose quartz, amethyst, citrine, smoky quartz, tiger’s eye, agate, aventurine, carnelian, bloodstone, onyx, and jasper. Always dry thoroughly after cleaning.
  • Water-sensitive crystals (avoid water completely):
    • Selenite, satin spar, gypsum – These dissolve in water.
    • Fluorite – Can fade or become brittle.
    • Malachite, lapis lazuli, azurite, turquoise, kyanite, celestite, angelite, desert rose, cinnabar – These are soft, porous, and can leach harmful substances.
    • Pyrite and hematite – These may rust or oxidize.
    • Amazonite, moonstone, lepidolite – Can absorb water and become damaged over time.

When in doubt, avoid water and choose dry cleaning methods instead.

2. Daily Care Tips

Gently wipe your crystal jewelry with a soft, dry cloth after wearing to remove skin oils and dust.

Avoid chemicals, perfumes, lotions, and soaps, which can dull or damage the crystals and metals.

Never use ultrasonic or steam cleaners on natural stones.

3. Storage & Protection

Store each piece separately in a fabric pouch or jewelry box to avoid scratches or tangling.

Keep your jewelry in a cool, dry place, away from humidity and direct sunlight, to prevent fading and tarnishing.

4. Handling & Wear

Remove your jewelry before bathing, exercising, washing hands, sleeping, or doing household chores.

Follow the rule: “Last on, first off.” Put on your jewelry after applying cosmetics, and take it off before undressing.

Avoid dropping or banging your jewelry against hard surfaces.

5. Energy Cleansing & Charging

Crystals benefit from regular energetic cleansing. Depending on the crystal’s composition, different methods are recommended:

  • Smoke cleansing: Safe for all crystals—use sage, palo santo, or incense to energetically refresh them.
  • Sound cleansing: Use tuning forks, bells, or singing bowls to vibrationally cleanse your stones.
  • Moonlight charging: Most crystals can safely be charged overnight under a full or new moon.
  • Sunlight: Only safe for a short time (1–2 hours) for sturdy crystals like quartz. Crystals like amethyst, rose quartz, fluorite, and celestite may fade in prolonged sunlight.

6. Regular Checks & Professional Care

Inspect your jewelry once a month for loose settings, dullness, or signs of tarnish.

For deep cleaning, repairs, or polishing, consult a professional jeweler familiar with gemstones and crystals.
